Jacob M. Appel (episode 26): His new novel The Mask of Sanity was published by Permanent Press, and his story collection The Liars’ Asylum will be published in June by Black Lawrence Press.
Brian Alan Ellis (episode 52) was recently interviewed by J David Osborne on the JDO Show Podcast and by Vlad Savich for the New England Review of Books. “RECENTLY ADDED IN SHIT YOU WATCHED ON MOM’S CABLE WHEN YOU WERE DEPRESSED WHILE ‘BETWEEN JOBS’ AND LIVING AT HOME IN YOUR EARLY-TO-MID TWENTIES” was published by BULL. He also interviewed author Scott McClanahan for CLASH Media. Something to Do with Self-Hate is out now from House of Vlad Productions.
Regina Mullen (episode 34): Regina recently read her latest prose poem “What My Father Did” at a Memorial Day Eve Service of Remembrance, Lamentation & Hope in New Windsor on May 28th. On June 15th at noon she, along with four other poets, will be presenting Dodge Poetry’s “Lunchtime Poems in Military Park,” A reading by Warrior Writers. This reading series will happen on the third Thursday of June, July, and August in the Newark’s Military Park: 51 Park Place, Newark NJ. Warrior Writers is a veteran-focused arts organization that fosters artistic exploration and expression through casual, welcoming workshops, retreats, book projects and public performances.
Eileen Merriman (episode 54): Her YA novel Pieces of You was just released by Penguin Random House.
Stephen Langlois (episode 60): “On the Flood of 1947, Its Consequences & the Oddity of the Cadaver Discovered Thereafter: First Draft,” published in Volume 1 Brooklyn; “DEED OF ELECTROCHEMICAL TRANSFER,” published in Rogue Agent; “subproject sixty-eight & other poems,” published in 3 AM Magazine.
Katherine Vondy (episode 4): “Going Swimming,” published in QUIDDITY. Her play “Drift” will be workshopped at the 4th Annual Summer Play Reading Festival at Paper Wing Theatre in Monterey, CA on Saturday, June 10 starting at 9 AM.
Peter Haynes (episode 82) will be reading a flash fiction piece at the launch of author Charlie Hill’s new collection “Walking Backwards” at the Waterstones Bookshop in Birmingham on July 6th. He will also be reading a new science fiction short story at the next Unsung Live event at the Stars of Kings pub in London on July 12th.
Todd Dillard (episode 7): “Every Story is an Origin Story” will be published by Split Lip in mid-July. He is also starting a writing workshop for rehab patients at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
Riona Judge McCormack (episode 47): “No 3 Western Deep” won the Sunday Business Post Short Story Prize.
Kirsten Major (episode 18): “Be Worthy of Your Heritage” was published in Entropy.
Jesse Bradley (episode 2): “Aftercare” was published in Flash Flood. His flash fiction collection, Neil and Other Stories, will come out next March from Whiskey Tit Books.
Craig Fishbane (episode 42): “Jack Kerouac Doesn’t Live Here Anymore,” “The Land of Smiles,” and “The New World” were all published by FRIGG.
Allison M. Charette (episode 38): “An International Exquisite Corpse” was published in Slice.
