Ríona Judge McCormack has spent eight years working in various fields of international development—human rights, peace, HIV/AIDS and public policy—in Ireland, Cambodia and South Africa. Though she very much enjoys the “day job,” she has recently been dedicating time to her first love: writing. She is currently shortlisted for a 2015 Hennessey Literary Award, and was shortlisted last year for both the Fish International Short Story and Flash Fiction Prizes. Her fiction and non-fiction have been published in New Irish Writing, Sassafras Literary Magazine, and the Irish Times. She currently lives in Johannesburg, where she is completing her first novel.
